QuA was asked to design a 'history book' for Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes, in which
the unique story is told of how a small local company can grow on its own
strengths, to become one of the worldwide multinationals in its industry. The
book was to be presented as a gift to all employees of Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes
worldwide. In this book not the historical dates but the drive of the people and the big innovations throughout time were of major importance. QuA decided to design the book around the three main values on which the company is based; Ambition, People and Innovation. These three themes were presented in a way that relates to the way the human memory works ('zapping'). That way it became a memory book rather than a history book. Although built on a linear basis, the reader's focus should shift from a written story to interesting imagery from the company's archive. The different layers of information that originate this way make the book a very colourful, dynamic and entertaining document. |
