Client AXA
Project Interior Design Headquarters

AXA is an International Insurance and Financial company.

The company decided to centralize it's Dutch activities into it's new headquarters. The 45,000 m2 building was designed by De Jong Gortemaker architects located in Utrecht. A childcare facility, fitness area, restaurant and shops were to be included in the building. The core concept had to reflect the AXA philosophy of 'think global, act local'.

1 > Initiate
Create an environment for the people and with the people.

2 > Research
Out of eight corporate values we have chosen 'imagination' (verbeeldingskracht). We worked from below to top, not only in the building but also in the organization.

3 > Concept
Imagination as orientation. Think global, act local.

4 > Explore
Together with a delegation of AXA employees we questioned the natural way of insurance formes worldwide.

5 > Finalize
Every floor is exclusively designed and produced in a specific theme.

6 > Production
The entrance is a step into the AXA world, Antarctica, because Antarctica is not owned by anyone. Multimedia system including 500 small films. Intranet site information over the building progress.
