De Salentein is located in Nijkerk, in the middle of the Netherlands. It consists of two restaurants, but it also offers two spaces where people can get together for weddings, lectures, conferences etc. It is closely related to a series of Argentinean vineyards that go under the same name. The visual identity for De Salentein consists of two- and three-dimensional items. Based on a newly developed logo and visual language, QuA develoed printed items such as stationery, menus and signing. For the interior QuA designed wallpaper and lampshades as well as three-dimensional logos for outside on the building of the restaurant. The concept behind all designs is a combination of three ingredients. The first ingredient is the natural environment of the estate that the restaurant is a part of. This comes back in a lot of the decorative patterns that mainly consist of big graphic illustrations of animals and plants. The second ingredient was a modern translation of the traditions and allure of a country estate. This is mainly visible in the crest and in the typographic and graphic parts of the identity. Finally, the Argentinean nature and culture are mostly visible in the colour palettes for the different parts of De Salentein. These range from an understated and chic palette for the main restaurant to a very festive and colourful palette for the wedding space. Besides this, a sense of old Argentinean grandeur comes back in the high quality and luxury materials that have been used for all items. |
