Client Nederlands Jeugdinstituut (NJi)
Project Corporate identity for NJi

On January 1st 2007, the Nederlands Jeugdinstituut or NJi (Dutch Youth Institute) originated from the much larger NIZW, which was a semi-governemental institute for social studies.

In the coming years, the NJi aims to become the number one integrated knowledge center in the Netherlands for issues concerning youth and upbringing. The NJi’s main target group consists of professionals that are involved in issues concerning upbringing, shelter, education, protection and care. In order to support the NJi’s main goal, a strong and distinguished visual presence was required.

QuA was asked to design a corporate identity and a series of communication carriers that would put the NJi ‘on the map’, clearly distinguishing it from the old NIZW but also from their current competitors. The new NJi identity would have to balance the actual work the insitute does, and the main topic of that work - youth. It was clear that ‘youth’ had to be a main theme in everything we would design: “Show what you’re doing”.

After developing the visual language, QuA developed a series of carriers such as stationery, brochures and a website. The project was finalised with a graphic design manual which supports the NJi in making their own design productions.
